The ECC Foreign Language Institute is one of Japan’s largest, oldest and most trusted language schools. Founded by Isamu Yamaguchi in 1962 as a small English conversation club in Osaka, we now have over 400 native English speakers teaching at more than 180 schools throughout the country.
The Foreign Language Institute is part of the larger ECC Group, which provides educational services to students of all ages via several specialized divisions. We’re an educational services company aiming for complete customer satisfaction from our students. That’s made us one of Japan’s most trusted educators, building our student base to almost 400,000 and our talented team to more than 18,000.
Since 1969, we’ve donated over six hundred million yen to charitable organizations around the world, including UNICEF, the Defense of Green Earth Fund and the Japanese Society for AIDS Research, through our Save-the-Earth Campaign. We’ve also teamed up with the Japan-Zambia Friendship Association to support a number of initiatives, including our recent Book Drive for Zambia, in which employees donated books to Zambian students.
